Govt pros (the short list)

Trishola is not a compliment factory. We still looked for receipts: things that scaled for ordinary people and show up in public data or serious institutions. The list is short. Every item carries the catch beside it. Praise without the catch is Godi copy.

This is not a full scorecard of India since 2014. Continuity matters: UPI sits on earlier ID and banking rails. ISRO is older than any one cabinet. When a scheme connects a household but refill prices or exclusions hurt, both facts stay on the table.

For the longer ledger of leaks, opacity, and probes, open the proof record. This page exists so nobody can say we refuse to see a working rail when one exists.

UPI: payments that actually work at scale

Credit
Unified Payments Interface made instant phone-to-phone and merchant payments normal for crores of Indians. Street vendors, rent, school fees, and small shops moved off cash friction. World Bank and BIS writing treat India's fast-payment rail as a global reference, not a WhatsApp rumour.
The catch
UPI does not cancel exam leaks, agency washing machines, or kitchen LPG bills. Digital rails can coexist with opaque politics. Fraud and rural connectivity gaps remain real.
2014–

DBT / JAM: more welfare money into accounts

Credit
Jan Dhan accounts, Aadhaar, and mobile (JAM) plus Direct Benefit Transfer cut some middlemen on subsidies and scholarships. Government and World Bank-linked summaries claim large cumulative 'leakage saved' figures when money hits accounts instead of ghost lists.
The catch
Official savings numbers are government-facing. Exclusion errors, biometric failures, and wrong seeding still strand real families. A cleaner pipe is not the same as adequate welfare or honest politics.

Ujjwala: first LPG connection for many kitchens

Credit
Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana put official LPG connections into tens of millions of poorer households that previously cooked on smoke-heavy fuel. That access shift is on the public scheme record.
The catch
A free or subsidised connection is not the same as affordable refills. Cylinder prices later rose hard on the minister's own Parliament numbers. See the LPG/fuel proof entry.

Highways and infra: more asphalt on the map

Credit
National highway and expressway build-out accelerated in the last decade on official MoRTH / NHAI reporting. Faster corridors matter for freight, ambulances, and intercity work when the road is real and maintained.
The catch
Km inaugurated is not the same as quality, land justice, or honest contracts. Marble-and-vista spending still sits next to broken local roads in many districts. Count the ribbon. Also count the pothole.

ISRO missions: science that made people proud

Credit
Chandrayaan, Mars Orbiter lineage, and later lunar successes gave Indians a rare clean pride story: engineers and scientists delivering under public institutions. Cabinets claim photo-ops. The labs did the work.
The catch
ISRO is older than any one government. Credit the institution and the people in it. Do not let a launch erase NEET rot or press-conference silence.

COVID vaccine manufacturing and drive scale

Credit
India produced and administered vaccines at enormous scale through public and private manufacturers, with CoWIN as the booking rail. Millions got doses who would have waited longer in a weaker manufacturing base.
The catch
Scale later does not erase the 2021 oxygen and hospital collapse. Families who begged for cylinders keep that memory. See the COVID oxygen proof entry.

Why this page is short

Because honest credit is rare when you demand receipts. If a future reform clearly lowers bribes, fixes exam integrity, or opens real press accountability, it can earn a line here. Until then, do not confuse a payment app with a clean republic.
