Article 32
Dr Ambedkar called this the heart and soul of the Constitution. If your fundamental rights are crushed, this article is the door to the Supreme Court.
What it is
Article 32 gives every person the right to move the Supreme Court for the enforcement of fundamental rights. Courts can issue writs (orders) so the state or its agents stop breaking those rights.
Why it matters
Rights on paper mean nothing if nobody can force a reply. Article 32 is the remedy when ordinary offices, police, or governments refuse to honour life, liberty, equality, speech, or other fundamental rights.
What it is not
- Not a shortcut for every stuck certificate or bribe fight
- Not free legal aid by itself (you may still need a lawyer)
- Not a substitute for RTI, police complaints, or local portals
