CJP spokesperson and negotiator. Carried the demands into the room with union ministers and kept saying the same line outside it: no resignation, no deal.
On 20 July, while police used batons and tear gas on the Sansad Chalo march, Ranka and Saurav Das met Health Minister J. P. Nadda to place CJP's demands: release Wangchuk, sack Dharmendra Pradhan, and pay ₹1 crore compensation to families of NEET aspirants who died.
After the crackdown he confirmed the movement would stop marching through central Delhi to avoid more injuries, while the core demand stayed unchanged. Before the third round of talks on 25 July he said there was no point talking if the resignation was off the table.
Negotiating is not surrender. Refusing to sell the main demand for two soft ones is the whole skill.
